Mr. Bean IILupe Fiasco (One of the only rappers I actually like)

I'm super stoked for Lupe Fiasco's new album. Still not 100% sure what it's actually called. It's either lupE.N.D; L.A.S.E.R.S.; Lasers; We are not Losers; We are not Losers, We are Lasers; or We are Lasers. It's gone through so many name changes I'm just not sure anymore. Anyway, I hope it's as good as Food and Liquor (The Cool kinda sucked...well it was ok I guess).
He issued a "manifesto" for his new album:

To Every Man, Woman & Child...
1. We Want An End To The Glamorization Of Negativity In The Media.
2. We Want An End To Status Symbols Dictating Our Worth As Individuals.
3. We Want A Meaningful And Universal Education System.
4. We Want Substance In The Place Of Popularity.
5. We Will Not Compromise Who We Are To Be Accepted By The Crowd.
6. We Want The Invisible Walls That Separate By Wealth, Race & Class To Be Torn Down.
7. We Want To Think Our Own Thoughts.
8. We Will Be Responsible For Our Environment.
9. We Want Clarity & Truth From Our Elected Officials Or They Should Move Aside.
10. We Want Love Not Lies.
11. We Want An End To All Wars. Foreign & Domestic (Violence).
12. We Want An End To The Processed Culture Of Exploitation, Over-Consumption & Waste.
13. We Want Knowledge, Understanding & Peace.
14. WE WILL NOT LOSE BECAUSE WE ARE NOT LOSERS, WE ARE LASERS!!!
Lasers are the opposite of losers. Lasers are shining beams of light that burn through the darkness of ignorance. Lasers shed light on injustice and inequality. Losers stand by and let things happen. Lasers act and shape their own destinies. Lasers find meaning and direction in the mysteries all around them. Lasers stand for love and compassion. Lasers stand for peace. Lasers stand for progression. Lasers are revolutionary.

This basically illustrates why I like him so much. He's one of the only rappers I know of that is actually socially conscious. None of his songs are about Guns, Bitches, or Bling. Well... they are, but they are about not using guns, not wearing bling just because you are rich, and treating bitches with respect. And he's also one of the onlly rappers that shows real emotion and admits to his imperfections. Basically, he might be the only rapper that (at least seems) to not buy into all the materialism that is modern rap.
If you've never heard of him, you must get Food and Liquor. Or at the very least, listen to his songs The Instrumental, Kick Push, and Hurt Me Soul. And go to his website.
I know this post is about a rapper, and I said this blog would be about Alternative (especially indie) music, but it does feature Matthew Santos. So it's kind of indie. And anyway, I'll probably never write about another rapper again.
